Rio Tinto Agricultural College

Farm Section

Rio Tinto Agricultural College has two farms:

  • Chemagora, spanning 1,300 hectares
  • Collyne Farm, covering 1,500 hectares.

The college itself occupies 110 hectares, of which 10 hectares are arable land. The farm section comprises livestock and crop sections. The soil types found on the college premises are sandy loamy soils, while Chemagora and Collyne farms have sandy soils. The college farm relies on Ngondoma Dam for water supply. Additionally, three solar-powered boreholes assist in domestic use as well as providing water for the livestock sections.
